Bryson Gordon is Executive Vice President of Advanced Advertising at Viacom. In this role, Gordon is responsible for the development and innovation of Viacom’s portfolio of advanced advertising products, including Vantage, the leading, data-driven advanced TV advertising platform, as well as client research and analytics. Gordon also leads Viacom’s participation in OpenAP, the industry’s first open platform for cross-publisher audience targeting and independent measurement, and has played an integral part in the development of the platform since its inception.

As the head of Viacom’s Advanced Advertising Group, Gordon oversees a diverse team of product managers, data scientists, engineers and researchers to rethink the customer experience of TV advertising, while also delivering new, advanced advertising solutions for Viacom’s advertising and marketing partners. This includes working with data scientists, researchers and others from non-traditional backgrounds, with advanced degrees in neuroscience, social psychology and other fields, to create new ad formats and experiences that appeal to consumers, fostering increased ad receptivity and more positive brand affinity. Gordon and his team also work closely with Viacom’s partners to develop and activate tailored advanced advertising campaigns, leveraging Viacom’s expertise across branded content, integrated marketing, analytics and social data products.

Previously, Gordon served as Viacom’s Executive Vice President of Data Strategy. Under his leadership, his team launched and established Vantage as the market leader in predictive ad targeting, expanding its product portfolio and guiding its adoption by many of the world’s largest advertisers. Prior to joining Viacom in 2015, Gordon spent more than a decade at Microsoft leading consumer marketing, product management, and business incubation teams across Windows, Xbox, Office, Microsoft Store, and Surface. Within the Surface business, he created an Audience Marketing discipline that defined high-value influencer segments, establishing data-driven pathways to fan cultivation. Earlier in his career, Gordon led Consumer Product Management at McAfee Security, helping develop and market the company’s direct-to-customer subscription services.

Gordon holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario and an MA from Cambridge University.
